I know.

Yes, it’s been a while.  Why?  The comic no longer pleases me.  I don’t mean to say that I’m quitting, but I don’t like it as it is.  I worked very hard to keep things interesting, but the plot holes about, the writing is crap, and it would be too hard to fix the beginning without scrapping a lot.  So I’m scrapping everything.  I’m going to start with a fresh idea or two.  Don’t worry, the characters you see won’t disappear.  But they will change.  Nemo ended up being her own character, but that doesn’t change the fact that she was a shameless self insertion at the outset.

So what now?  I’m in the process of rewriting everything.  Nemo’s story will be finished eventually, but she’s definitely not a stable main character right now, and it’s not fair to have gone into this with no planning at all.  What I’m working on now centers mostly on Drift, but Nemo and Cam will both be included.  There will also be a few new (old) characters.  I don’t know how long the process of planning this is going to take me.  It could be a couple months, it could be a couple years.  In the mean time, check back for artwork, character sketches, and probably a few jotted ideas that I need to get out of my head.

Okay, so I know that it has been exceedingly too long.  This thing isn’t dead, though, so don’t disappear just yet (if you happen to read any of my crap in the first place).  The shit of it is, I have the next page.  It’s all ready to be edited and added in.  It WAS edited and added in.  But something went wrong with my computer.  I had to back everything up onto an old hard drive, and when I managed to get the computer running, guess what file got corrupted?  That’s right.

So, no big deal.  I’ll just redo it, yes?  Only problem with that is, by tablet died too.  It’s been all ghettofied for a while now, but the electrical tap just ain’t holding it together anymore.  So I can’t redo any of the editing I did before.  I have to start from scratch without the benefit of anything but a regular mouse.

What does this mean for you guys?  Well it means you won’t see any improvements to the art outside of whatever I can do with the roughs.  It’s just gonna look a lot more plain until I figure out what I want to do with it.  Sorry.

I upgraded both WordPress and ComicPress, which left me with no real layout for a while. I figured I may as well make the new layout kinda special. Sort of.

You may, if you you’re a new reader, notice that the “first” button actually takes you to a comic with the id of 16. Or you might just have noticed that even after you go to first, you can still hit the previous button. This is because the first eight comics actually have nothing to do with anything. The StrangeLand started with me doing gags when I was bored. There wasn’t even an inkling of a story until you hit page 9. I wouldn’t even have kept that if it didn’t show you how Drift ended up really meeting Nemo and what relationship she thought she had to him.

If I ever get the time (or actually come up with a better way to introduce the story), then I’ll rewrite the beginning and make some new pages. As it is, I’ll be working through to the end of the story first.
